The reality, however, is that this isn't a game. Yes, kids can play with it, but they're not the audience. Back in 2008, less than 4% of the Runescape players were below 13, together with the average age being 16. Even if that percentage was an underestimate (which I honestly think it was contemplating how many kids lie and say they're 13), that amount has only gone down as Runescape game has obsolete. Bear in mind, RS is nearly 20 years old today -- it is legally permitted to drink in a lot of the world.

I could totally get on board with taking away the duel arena (especially since it is basically dead content today that friendly duels are possible anywhere), and like I said in my prior post Jagex really should be doing to adapt for men and women that have gambling problems (like allowing self-improvement constraints ), however the gaming argument is feeble at best IMO.

Edit: Just realized I said that I think there are better alternatives but forgot to supply any! Classic. Anyhow, brief summary because I'm headed to bed -- If you would like to actually fix problems, you have to deal with the CAUSE of the problem, not the symptoms. People wasting their money on keys or at the duel arena is not the problem, it's a symptom of the issue. The problem is gambling addiction. Yes, treating the symptoms by removing these systems entirely can help, but at a price to others like me (or pre-ironman me) who are perfectly responsible adults and are conscious of the hazards of gambling.

I believe Jagex needs to first comprehend and warn new Runescape players who Runescape game can involve betting if you chose, and they should also provide easy accessibility to mental health resources IN GAME, not only links on their website.
