Secondly, Madden Franchise Mode gets any love. The current outage is evidence of this, but Madden game hasn't evolved much. In my opinion, in reality, it's gotten worse over the last few decades. Commentary is horrible, the drive aims are only insane half the time (i.e. wanting receivers to acquire back-to-back touchdown drives), Madden participant AI gets worse and worse. I don't feel there is a very immersive experience for enjoying as a Madden player (unless I'm the QB), and that I do not have as many sandbox elements as I'd like in offline franchise. A few are objective fact, although some of these are just my view.

Most of the items Franchise has gotten have made it worse. The Superstar Abilities has been a huge turn-off for me and the reason I did not buy Madden 20. The change to how you level up stats last year was just another big one, since it took away control from me as a Madden player. I have a problem with rewarding achievement with XP gains. This goes for your suggestions, but for Madden in general. Actually, gaming in general. Don't get me wrong, you want to reward success. However, I don't think it follows a typical cycle in the NFL.

At the NFL Rookies generally play little, but obtain a lot of experience. They trim fat so they can be in even better shape than if they have been drafted or'll wear muscle, and they'll be trained in a professional setting the way the NFL works in contrast to college. The Madden players who grow the most might not see a lot of the field, but they are developed into starters in a couple of years.

EA doesn't care although there's undoubtedly a lot to improve and make more realistic at CFM or simply straight up isn't aware. I will say that Madden players that start off low sound easier to progress but I don't know about the era cutoffs and everything. In my current dolphins franchise I picked up an undrafted gift rb in the round. He didn't play until week 3 and by week 10 he hit 73 overall and moved from dev. I have yet to see a breakout to get a qb though that I don't know.
