As someone who did not follow the OSRS gold scene, I really loved the idea of Old School RuneScape when I learned about it after it was announced as coming to cellular a couple of years ago. RuneScape appropriate is a desktop MMORPG that's been running for almost two years now, and in fact it's becoming a fully-featured mobile port at the very close to future. But when people have played a match for that many years, it is difficult to get completely behind all of the changes and improvements that come during its lifespan.
Many runescape players preferred the"old school" RuneScape adventure that existed in the earlier years of the runescape game's life, and so in 2013 programmer Jagex responded to these fans by releasing a match literally called Old School RuneScape.
It published more or less a variant of RuneScape since it already existed in 2007, and while it has still received updates and new content within the years these are largely driven by runescape player demand based on in-game polls. Old School RuneScape feels like the epitome of fan support, and roughly a year ago it was brought to mobile all its previous school glory.
To celebrate this first anniversary of the cell version Jagex is throwing a party within the runescape game today where runescape players may go and catch a slice of cake in the Varrock fountains. It's not a lie! This very first birthday isn't the only thing worth celebrating now as Jagex has also revealed that Old School RuneScape on cellular has surpassed the 8 million installs mark.
