There also might not be a mode that obviously requires an advancement in Madden NFL 22 than Face of the Franchise. It doesn't need to be constructed from the bottom up, it simply needs to get more attention paid to it. EA had a fantastic idea as it offered up the ability to have a player from high school and college to the pros. When the style culminated in Madden NFL 20, it looked like a very good, if unfinished step.

Then this past year's version appeared to be a significant step back. A souped-up, enhanced version of that mode will go a long way towards creating Madden NFL 22's launch a large win over it's predecessor.

While Face of the Franchise could use some help, the franchise mode is obviously the one at the center of controversy when the game's community is mad. Like the prior game style, it does not need to be rebuilt from the ground up. What it does need is some quality of life upgrades to be able to make the initiation of the new game successful. It would help if EA paid the exact same type of attention to reality that MLB The Display does using its franchise style. The Display does not do anything particularly flashy, but the game style functions as though they really are running a major league leading office.

The Madden NFL series used to be similar in texture with its franchise mode. In fact, it was so good that it actually birthed a whole other sport which enabled people to feel as though they were the head coach and general manager. Oddly, that appears to be about the time once the mode in Madden games fell off a little. EA appears to understand that it ought to bring the rain when it comes to the franchise mode. It said as much this fall when the community expressed its disappointment over Madden NFL 21.

1 change that may be coming down the pike is the arrival of Madden NFL 22 on the Nintendo Switch. Last year, Madden NFL 21 came late to Google Stadia. Certainly needing more platforms to play the sport will help its prevalence, but not if what is offered on those platforms is just the"same old, same old."
