Between photo-realistic images and a new WNBA mode, basketball fans have a lot to look forward to when it comes to the PlayStation 5 along with Xbox collection X/S versions of NBA 2K21. And you can add The City, an expanded online hub world, to the listing of next-generation specific capabilities.
The City assembles on The Neighborhood gameplay mode that has been a trademark of this franchise over the past few years. Series developer Visual Concepts is producing everything essentially sounds like an MMORPG. When you first visit The City, you are going to start in"Rookieville."
It is just what it sounds like: a tutorial region where you will need to complete several jobs before the rest of the internet world opens to you. As Soon as You're out of Rookieville, then you'll pick among four Affiliations to join: North, South, East and West. Every faction requires another borough of The City their home and has its own mayor.
Visual Concepts will handpick the match earliest mayors from the NBA2K community to serve a first term. Afterward, every Affiliation will vote for their agent via an in-game poll -- in case you haven't had your fill of elections in the last week. Each term lasts fourteen days, and as a mayor, you'll have the power to define your faction's visual identity. Visual Concepts will allow mayors to customize their Affiliation's uniforms, court designs and much more.
As you learn more about the hub, you will discover basketball hoops connected to the side of some buildings. Along the way, you'll also stumble upon NPCs that will give you quests to complete. Like their counterparts in virtually every other MMO, they'll have an exclamation mark over their heads to let you know they've got an assignment for you to complete. Obviously, there are also in-game stores across the planet where you are able to customize your character's look.
