The principal issue with sport games is that they'll always discover a casual audience who don't care about the ultimate team stuff. What exactly happens is that the hardcore audience is left dealing with exploitive ultimate team practices with no end in sight since developers have little incentive to change their matches. If you try something similar to this in an fps or a large aaa single player game, then customers will fine a competition and give that match their small business. Never played with any 2k football games but I've discovered that NFL 2K5 is the best football game ever. That's why I am awaiting FIFA 22 on another gen. That's when we will see change/improvements like we watched FIFA 15. Then again, EA has just gotten worse since then... FIFA 13 & 14 were likely my favourite years though.

Most games which operate on unreal has very good gameplay, do not think PES devs do not see fans whining. I'll be prepared to make a change in a heartbeat if PES brand new gameplay provides a realistic, fun and fluid experience. But MyTeam is even worse than FUT in terms of P2W and content. With larger player base they could enhance faster IMO. What incentive would that be? People today tend to overlook that PES is printed by Konami who are even scummier shils than EA themselves... Nevertheless a little competition for EA would always be more rewarding for the players.
